What is Vastu? chennaivastu
வாஸ்து சாஸ்திரம் என்பது நகர அமைப்பு, கட்டிடக்கலை என்பன சம்பந்தப்பட்ட இந்தியாவின் மிகவும் பழமையான அறிவுத்துறைகளில் ஒன்றாகும். “வாஸ்து” என்றசொல் கட்டிடமொன்று கட்டப்பட்டுள்ள அல்லது கட்டப்படவுள்ள நிலத்தைக் குறிக்கும். வாஸ்து சாஸ்திரம் என்பது, ஒரு நிலத்தில் கட்டிடம் கட்டுவதற்குரிய முறைகளையும், அதன் தத்துவங்களையும் விளக்கும் ஒரு வேதம் சார்ந்த அறிவுத்துறையாகும்.
கி.மு 3000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்னர் ஏற்பட்டிருக்கக்கூடுமெனக் கருதப்படுகிறது. இந்துக்களின் முதல் நூல்களான நான்கு வேதங்களில், நான்காவது வேதமான அதர்வண வேதத்தில் இது பற்றிச் சொல்லப்பட்டிருப்பதாகக் கூறப்படுகிறது. வாஸ்து சாஸ்திரத்தின் பல்வேறு அம்சங்களையும் விரிவாக விளக்கிப் பல நூல்கள் பழைய காலத்திலேயே எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன. வாஸ்து சாஸ்திரத்தின் நோக்கம், மக்களுடைய நல்வாழ்வுக்காக அவர்களுடைய தேவைகளையும் எதிர்பார்ப்புக்களையும் பூத்திசெய்வதுடன், கட்டப்படுகின்ற கட்டிடம், மனிதன் இயற்கையுடனும், இப் பிரபஞ்சத்தின் ஒழுங்குடனும் இசைந்து போவதற்கு உதவுவதுமாகும். வாஸ்து சாஸ்திரம், ஒரு கட்டிடத்தை வெறும் கல்லாலும், மரத்தாலும், உருக்காலும், சிமென்ட் கலவை கொண்டு (Concrete) கட்டப்பட்ட உயிரற்ற அமைப்பாகக் கருதுவதில்லை.அதற்கு தான் வாஸ்து என்கிற பெயராக இருக்கிறது.chennaivastu
Vastu Shastra is one of India’s oldest branches of knowledge dealing with city planning and architecture. The term “Vastu” refers to the land on which a building is constructed or is to be constructed. Vastu Shastra is a Vedic branch of knowledge that explains the methods and principles of building on a land.It is believed to have occurred before 3000 BC. It is said to be mentioned in the fourth Veda, the Atharvana Veda, among the four Vedas, the first scriptures of the Hindus. Many books have been written in ancient times explaining various aspects of Vastu Shastra in detail. The purpose of Vastu Shastra is to fulfill the needs and expectations of the people for their well-being and to help the building to harmonize with nature and the order of the universe. Vastu Shastra does not consider a building as an inanimate structure made of stone, wood, iron or concrete, hence the name Vastu.
