பழைய வாஸ்து சாஸ்திர நூல்களில் வடமேற்கு என்பது கோடு என்கிற வார்த்தையோடு பொருத்திப் பார்க்கப்படுகிறது. அந்த வகையில் வட மேற்கில் மாடுகள் கொட்டகை அமைத்துக் கொண்டு அதன் கிழக்கு புறத்திலோ அதன் வடகிழக்கு பாகத்திலோ, தாராளமாக குடியிருக்கும் வீட்டை அமைத்துக் கொள்ளலாம். அப்படி அமைக்கின்ற பொழுது அதன் கிழக்கு, வடக்கு சுவரை தொடாமல் வாஸ்து ரீதியாக அமைத்துக் கொள்ளும் பொழுது, அந்த இடத்தில் ஒரு நல்ல வாஸ்து மனையாக செயல்படும்.
In the old Vastu Shastra texts, North-West is associated with the word line. In that way, a cowshed can be constructed in the north-west and a spacious house can be constructed in its east side or its north-east side. When it is constructed in such a way and without touching its east and north wall, it will act as a good vastu mana at that place.
