However, from a Vastu perspective, it is considered a grave error to construct a balcony in the southeast zone—specifically, as an extension leading outward from the eastern side near the kitchen area. One must strictly avoid committing such errors. Alternatively, if the living room is centrally located, a balcony may be constructed as an extension accessible through it, leading toward the southeast direction. Otherwise, such a construction should be avoided entirely. According to Vastu principles, this is the prescribed method for constructing balconies in homes and apartments that face the east.
